SWAT is a support utility from Atheros Communications, Inc., designed for PCs that use Atheros wireless network adapters. It helps configure wireless settings, monitors connection and signal quality, and provides basic diagnostics and logging to troubleshoot Wi‑Fi issues. The tool is typically bundled by computer manufacturers alongside Atheros drivers and works only with compatible Atheros hardware. While not required for basic connectivity, SWAT can simplify troubleshooting and provide access to adapter‑specific options. Atheros Communications later became part of Qualcomm, so the utility may still appear on systems with legacy Atheros drivers.
